22 months

a few weeks ago already but this little guy keeps getting older....

21 months

It's over a month late but that's how I do it these days! :) These pictures are getting harder and harder to take of him.  He will not keep still anymore! 

20 months

In February - Elliot turned 20 months.  We had a weight check and Elliot was just over 21 lbs, we had barely made the goal for his weight gain.  But I was very happy that he was finally over 20 lbs!

19 months

18 Months

It has become so much harder to keep him still for one of these pictures, but here he is. 

At Elliot's 18 month check up he hadn't gained weight from his last visit.  He's stayed around 19 lbs for the last few months.  Our pediatrician refered us to a Dietician... luckily our insurance covered the visit!  At the visit we learned that Elliot's head circumfrence has followed the same curve since birth, which means that he has the potential to grow "as normal"  but due to the lack of calories he recieves his weight is off the chart and his height is starting to fall off (barely on the chart now).  Apparently this would be common for lack of calroies.  So basically we need to work harder at giving Elliot those calories he is missing.  It's a good to know that it's pretty clear that is the reason why he is so small right now.  I sometimes worried that he would stop growing and there could be something more serious.  So I consider ourselves lucky but feel pretty terrible that we've been slacking on giving him what he needs.... 

So our plan now (given by the dietician) is to stick to a schedule - keep all meals, snacks and drinks at the table and add extra calories whenever possible.  To start we need to feed him more meat (which I have) proud of myself for making the extra effort, he almost finsished 1 chicken tender tonight!  (Thank you - Ian's frozen chicken tender that has no dairy, egg or nuts)  We were also told to add (vegan) butter to crackers or sunbutter and extra canola or olive oil to meals to add the extra calories.  I've noticed that Elliot has been drinking more from his sippy while sitting vs. letting him carry and spill it all over the place.  It's only been a few days but I think we are off to a good start.  Our insurance changes at the begining of the year so we will not be doing a follow up with the dietician because the new insurance won't cover the visit.  She was extremely nice and let us know we could call her or email her to discuss things if we wanted to bounce ideas with her again - which is so awesome!  So we will have a weight check at the Pediatrican office at 20 months and hope Elliot's at least gained 1 lb to know we are back on track.

17 months

Elliot has had so much fun with the drums in the basement and he sounds good too! 

We checked out the lights at temple square, Elliot wasn't as excited as I had thought he would be, but still enjoyed them.  He really wanted to walk around on his own...

We hope to make it to zoo lights this year too.

Elliot has really become more independent.  It's so much fun to watch him play on his own and get our attention to see what he has come up with.  He's started jumping off the couch which has been scary - but I think he's learned not to jump when there is not someone to catch him...  He watches his cousin's closely and has picked up a lot of things including the couch jumping from them. He loves to laugh and usually is the first to find things funny... really funny.  His laugh is so adorable!  He loves to give hugs and tight ones too!

15 months

I really started to slack on Elliot's monthly pictures and I really felt bad taking this one because it was one of his clingy nights.  With that said, Elliot is now 15 months old!  He had his check up and is 30 inches/10th percentile and 19 lbs/below the charts.  His pediatrician is not too concerned about his weight right now because he's been sick for the last few weeks but we are hoping he starts to put on some weight.

11 Months

I've decided I better start putting his clothes on in these pics... next time.

We went back through and looked at these monthly pics and I am so glad we have been doing them, I can't believe how he's grown.  There were a few pics where he doesn't really look like himself.  Since I end up at least taking a few pics each time because it's hard to keep him still, it gives more pics to compare.  He sure seemed more asian until about 7 months, which is also around the time that eczema took over... arr! 

He still is one precious, beautiful boy!

10 Months!

9 months old

it took awhile to put this up but here is Elliot at 9 months:

At his 9 month check up he was 17 lbs, 5% for weight and 25% for height. 

My baby turned 8 months old yesterday

7 Months

Elliot's been dancing and clapping.  He got a little boombox for Christmas and will bounce and nod his head to the music.  He's still trying to figure out the crawling thing down but he's managing to move around by rolling and scooting.  It amazes me how happy he always is.   He really feeds off of your energy so as long as you are happy you can usually keep him happy.  He's starting to pull himself up and hang on to things.  He usually uses Josiah and I to hang on to as he pulls up.

6 month

My baby is over six months old now.  I am behind at putting this up but better than never.  At five months he learned to sit up and do girl push ups.  Now he is doing regular pushups and even is on his knees.  Today he started to just dive forward.  I think he'll get crawling down soon, I just don't think we are ready to chase him. 

Well, at Elliot's 6 month check up e weighed 16 bs & was 26 inches.  In the 50% for height and 34% for weight.  He had 5 shots that day and took a lot of time to recover.  It included the regular 6 month shot the flu & H1N1 he'll have to go back for boosters on those two.  He's starting solids and is still not a fan, it's been real messy.

4 months

I had problems trying to update the blog the other day.  So here is Elliot's 4 month pic:

He is so much fun!!  He's always smiling and has started to laugh out loud, before he would make the face of laughing and nothing would come out.  But he figured it out and it's the cutest thing!  He's babbling like crazy, so cute.  Yes, I think everything he does is cute! 

He doesn't love tummy time but I think he is getting the idea of crawling.

He's started to grab everything he can get his hands on!

3 Months Old

Today, Elliot is 3 months old!


I can't believe he has been in our lives for that long already. I can't even imagine my life with out him anymore. He is the sweetest boy, I love him more and more every day. Watching him grow and learn new things is amazing, he is such a blessing to our lives.
He's become quite the drooler, I think he can compete with Keegan and his drools. He may need a bib all day! Elliot has always seemed to hold his head up really well but now he lifts it up when he is lying down. He is all smiles. He has a little giggle and sometimes it looks like he is laughing really hard with no sound coming out. It's cute!
I'm not sure how he does this really...



That's it for now, time for bed... I have to work tomorrow :(
